If you are visiting my blog for the first time you may wonder about the name.  Some have asked if there are 3,718 other sites named Nicodemus and if this is just the next one in line.  In actuality the number(s) are significant.

As a Christian I have come to appreciate the person of Nicodemus who had three encounters with Jesus as recorded in the Bible.  They are all contained in the Gospel of John and happen to be recorded in chapters 3, 7 and 19.

I’ll expound more on the significace of these encounters both for Nicodemus and in my own life in future posts, but for now I just wated my readers to know where the name comes from …

… and I wanted to experiment with this new venture of blogging.
